Yes, there are two things we love to do in the bathroom other than bathing.

One is singing – preferably from the Abba songbook. (no, not really!)

Two is seeing ourselves in the mirror.
The first one is unpopular when our kids are home. The second one is tough because steam fogs up our mirrors.

Steam can also be a hazard in your bathroom due to the possible build-up of mold. That’s why proper ventilation from an open window or an in-bathroom fan is preferred.

If that annoying steam is always making you crazy, here are some simple solutions you can try.
Coat your mirror with non-gel toothpaste and wipe it off before you get in the shower.
Shaving cream is a surprisingly good deterrent for foggy mirrors. Nothing like a 2-in-1 product to improve the day. Just lather the mirror with shaving cream and wipe it with a towel. Your mirror will be fog-free for a few weeks.

Creating a 50-50 solution of vinegar and water will also do the trick. This is an all-natural cleaner that is preferable to a chemical-based item. It’s effective when you put the mixture into a spray bottle along with a drop of dishwashing soap. Vinegar smells, of course, but it should go away within an hour. You can also add lemon juice for a fresh-smelling bathroom.

Place a few droplets of dishwashing soap onto your palm and add water. Wipe this soapy hand across the mirror and then wipe it clean with a paper towel.
Use leftover car wax or an interior window de-fogger.

If you don’t remember to apply these methods ahead of time, try a blow dryer to eliminate the steam from your mirrors.

Now that you’ve gotten the one up on that dastardly fog – go ahead and sing all your favourite ABBA songs.

Sing it out loud and clear. Your neighbours will love you for it!!
